Dirt work from small city lots to big ranch jobs

Dirt work is where Monty Cain got his start, and it is still core to this company. We dig and haul dirt for builders and property owners across Burleson and the rest of the Fort Worth area. One job might be a foundation dig on a tight city lot with a fence in the way. The next is a big ranch job where our largest excavator does the digging.

Monty ran dirt work and roll-off dumpster businesses for years before he started Texas Best Demolition in late 2024. He also built and sold a demolition company here in Burleson before this one. That history shows up in the equipment, from a compact Bobcat E88 up to a Kobelco 350. Dozers, wheel loaders, three skid loaders, and our own trucks and trailers fill out the rest.

Dirt Work in Burleson, TX and the Fort Worth Area

Dirt work covers the digging and hauling that has to happen before a builder can pour a foundation. We do that work in Burleson, Fort Worth, Arlington, and the rest of the southwest side of the Metroplex. Our area runs through southern Tarrant County and northern Johnson County, with some jobs over the Dallas County line. Burleson is home base, so a machine and an operator are usually a short drive from your job site.

Some of our dirt work is on a single city lot, and some of it is on a working ranch. Right now we have a very large pond job running on a ranch, plus dirt jobs beside 17-18 house demolitions. Rural work has its own problems, like long haul roads and soft ground after rain. We have about 20 people, so we can keep a big dirt job moving and still cover smaller ones.

Cut and Fill and Trenching

Cut and fill means we take dirt off the high spots and move it to the low ones. Done right, the dirt you already own does most of the work, and you buy less fill dirt. We check the grades before we start, so the cut and the fill come close to balancing. If they do not balance, we say so early, and we either haul dirt in or take it away.

We trench for water lines, sewer lines, electric, and storm drain on jobs of every size. We also dig out for foundations, footings, drives, and parking areas on new construction. The right machine matters here, since a trench next to a house is a different job than an open field. We bring a Bobcat E88 into tight backyards, and a Kobelco 270 or 350 when the dig runs deep.

Hauling Dirt In and Out

We haul dirt in and out with our own roll-off trucks and high-side trailers. If your site has more dirt than the plan calls for, we load it out and take it away. If the site needs fill, we bring in dirt and place it where the plan puts it. Because the trucks are ours, the schedule stays in our hands, and a full site does not stop the machines.

A good share of our dirt work happens right after a demolition on the same property. Once the building is gone, we backfill the hole and clean the leftover debris out of the dirt. That is what leaves a lot ready for the next builder to stake out and start. Call us at (817) 564-4360 for a free estimate, and we price the dirt work right there at the property.

The machines do the work, the debris leaves in our own dumpsters, and the ground gets graded before we pull off. What you keep is a clean, usable lot.

FAQ

Excavation and Dirt Work Questions, Answered

Common questions about excavation and dirt work across Burleson, Fort Worth & the southwest Metroplex. Don't see yours? Give us a call and ask.

Call (817) 564-4360

Do you haul dirt in and out, or only move it around the site?
We do both. We haul dirt off your site with our own roll-off trucks and high-side trailers. We also bring in fill dirt when a job runs short of what it needs. Cut and fill on site often handles part of it, which cuts down the loads either way.
Will my lot be ready to build on after the demolition?
Yes, that is part of the job. After the building comes down, we backfill the hole and pull the buried debris out. Then we bring the dirt back to a workable grade for the next build. Your builder can stake the new foundation without calling a second dirt contractor.
How much does dirt work cost?
We price every dirt work job at the property, because the drivers change lot to lot. The main ones are how much dirt has to move and how far it has to travel. Hauling dirt off site and tight access push the number up. Rock and buried utilities add machine time, and time is most of the cost.
How big of a dirt job can you take on?
We run excavators in every size class, from a Bobcat E88 up to a Kobelco 350. The small ones fit tight backyards, and the big ones handle deep or heavy digs. Dozers and wheel loaders back them up, along with three skid loaders. Right now we are running big ranch dirt work and dirt jobs beside 17-18 house demolitions.
What areas do you cover for excavation and dirt work?
Yes, we work across Burleson, Fort Worth, Arlington, and the southwest side of the Metroplex. That takes in southern Tarrant County and northern Johnson County, and we cross the Dallas County line for some jobs. Call (817) 564-4360 and we will tell you if your address works.

Why Choose Texas Best

Why Fort Worth-Area Property Owners Call Texas Best

Decades in the Work

Monty Cain built and sold a demolition company here before this one. The company is new; the experience running it is not. About 20 people keep 17-18 house demos moving at once.

A Machine for Every Job

A Bobcat E88 fits through a backyard gate. A Kobelco 350 brings down a commercial building. Dozers, wheel loaders and skid steers fill the gaps, so the machine matches the lot.

Haul-Off Is Ours Too

Three roll-off trucks and about 75 dumpsters belong to the company. Debris leaves on our schedule, and the quote covers the finished state: teardown, loading, hauling, cleanup.

Southwest Metroplex Ground

Burleson is home. Fort Worth, Arlington, Crowley, Mansfield and Cleburne are short drives on known ground. The clay moves around here, and the dirt work is planned for it.
